Loyola University Medical Center's Gottlieb Hospital had its plan for a medical center on North Avenue (rendering shown at right) pushed back last week. The Village of River Forest's Development Review Board said the proposal for a one-story medical office building wasn't complete enough.

It's not your imagination, it's mosquito heaven out there. That's why the Des Plaines Valley Mosquito Abatement District will be out spraying across Oak Park starting Tuesday at 9 p.m. The spraying should continue until about midnight. The mosquito district sprayed in River Forest last week.

At some point between 8:15 p.m. and midnight Thursday, an orange or white truck with flashing yellow lights will be driving through River Forest spraying a mist from its back. That mist is what the Des Plaines Valley Mosquito Abatement District has determined is needed now as a precaution against West Nile virus.
