Harrison Street retailers Peter and Karen Morava
Local shopping finds, unduplicated

You wouldn't think there would be late-breaking developments for a section on local shopping. But in a community as continuously creative as the Oak Park Arts District, we found this week that there sure can be.

Two days after we'd wrapped up work on the Valentine gift guide at the center of today's Wednesday Journal, we heard back from glass artist Peter Morava. The genius behind the leaded glass door at the namesake studio on Harrison Street - and the artist behind the singular bathroom panels at Marion Street Cheese Market - Morava does do itty bitty work, too.

He'd just finished these etchings on champagne bottles and wrote to tell us they're available at Careful Peach, 128 Harrison, the eco-friendly home furnishings boutique owned by Karen Morava, his wife. In limited supply. $90 each. 383-3066
